You are purchasing a professionally made O Scale Corrigan Station CityScape built-up shadowbox fabricated by Todd Architectural Models & Layouts. This shadowbox measures 1-1/4” deep. This particular shadowbox is modeled after the Corrigan Station Building that was built in Kansas City in 1921.
Originally designed for 5-stories, the Corrigan sisters developed the building at 10-stories after securing a lease with the US Postal Service in honor of Thomas Corrigan, the first to bring mule-drawn street cars to Kansas City after the Civil War. The Corrigan Station Building also housed the Donnelly Garment Company, the nation’s largest dress manufacturing label for a period of time, between 1927 and 1948. The building is located at the corner of Walnut and 19th Streets, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Todd Architectural Models & Layouts Models has designed the Corrigan Station Building model using the original design drawings and historic photographs. There are subtle design differences between elevations and a unique window lite pattern that make the Corrigan Station Building particularly interesting to model. The model is available in 5- through 10-story versions, and with Walnut Street and 19th Street elevations, on a semi-custom order basis. Please email the show to inquire.
This CityScape built-up shadowbox, CS-03-W10-SB, measures 13-1/2” long by 23-1/8” tall and represents the 10-story version of the Walnut Street elevation.
The parts for each shadowbox are constructed of laser scored and cut acrylic plastic, PolyBak and Taskboard. Windows are assembled using two layers of laser cut PolyBak for sashes and frames. Fascia and details are built-up acrylic plastic and PolyBak. Each shadowbox is made at ¼” = 1’-0” scale and will be a welcome addition to your O Scale layout.
This shadowbox CS-03-W10-SB is an order item unless otherwise noted. Please allow up to four weeks for the custom laser cutting, painting and assembly and packaging of your purchase.
